Most people have seen the classic Walt Disney film "Mary Poppins", but what they may not know is that it was originally created in print form in 1934 by author Pamela Travers, who in fact came from our very own Maryborough, on the Fraser Coast. Each year in July, Maryborough honours the famous Nanny with a Mary Poppins festival including a market day, movie night and Nanny races!
